To expand a bit on my tweets from earlier today, Wild Boy: My Life in Duran Duran is indeed a solid book for the Duran fans. And not just Duran fans, but all music fans, as it shares an insight into the life of one of the most influential bands of today. However, I did hope for more details in terms of the creative process of the band and how they found their magic formula of those first two albums. Perhaps I was still under the influence of the detailed look into the life od Depeche Mode I read about in Steve Malins’ Depeche Mode Bio.
It was great to read about stuff I did not know about, like the fact Andy Taylor was involved in making the Commando movie soundtrack, or the Don Johnson record. The book also reminds you to enjoy and care about the important things in life, so I recommend you read it.
Oh and by the way, you can hear that famous false note from A View to a Kill on YouTube.
