The Book Baton Thing

Books. I like books. They smell good. Most of the time. No, call me crazy, but I seriously enjoy the smell of books. I love the “fresh” smell of brand new, just printed books, and I love the sweet smell of libraries and used book stores. It just makes me happy. But enough of that.
Ssso, it’s that baton thing again. Passed to me by Maratz, again. Let’s get crackin’ then.
Number of Books on the Shelves
I actually had to get up and count them, for crying out loud. I re-arranged some dust along the way, of course. There are around 45 books (my math sucks) of various kinds on my shelves.
Last Book Purchased
I honestly can’t remember. It must have been some novel, a gift for a friend. I always buy books for my friends. You can buy me some, too, you know? I won’t mind at all.
Currently Reading
The Art and Science of Web Design by Jeffrey Veen. Yeah, I know, it’s five years old. But it wasn’t free up until now.
Last 5 Books Read
- Dive Into Accessibility by Mark Pilgrim
- It Can’t Always be Caviar (1 & 2) by Johannes Mario Simmel
- Building Accessible Websites by Joe Clark
- The Wonderful Years of Lousy Living by Michal Viewegh
- Different Seasons by Stephen King
Meaningful Books
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
- Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse
- The Stranger by Albert Camus
Passing it on
- Jason Santa Maria, because he has graphics of books on his site
- Jason Beaird, because I’ve decided to throw the baton to everyone named Jason
- Sebastian Schmieg, because I could find no more Jasons in my blog folder
- Alen Grakalić, before he passes it to me
- Joen Asmussen, coz I fancy his site
Ah, yes, the smell of an old library… *sight*

Thanks for passing it on, and for your kind comments, I appreciate it.
I see there’s a lot of web design on your list. Take a look at Designing Web Usability by Jakob Nielsen, it’s a book people often steer clear of because of JN’s bad reputation. But if you have it at your local library, which is not unlikely, take a look at it. It really has some good points in it!
I like your website, by the way - best use of “worn” in a while.

@Joen: I’ll definitely keep that one in mind, thanks. Thank you for your comments as well! Cheers!

I never noticed that you sent the baton my way! The funny part is that it was passed to me by Maratz too. I’m so far behind on my blog reading that it’s not even funny. Somehow all my free time has been spent on yard work and home improvement since Ames and I moved to South Carolina.

Yup, I saw you’re busy with your new home, Jason. Good luck with everything!

Whoa, Bojan, it’s only now that I became aware about all of this. Talking about being far behind, Jason :) . Well, now that I’m back from my holidays I got a lot of reading to do, including books, blogs, and my webstats :).
